Forex Trading Systems

Forex Trading Systems are a dime a dozen, and just about everyone I looked, are well...lets put it this way, their the closest thing to useless, as a used tire.

But I'm getting ahead of my story... I've traded commodities, futures, stocks and options on all of them...so I thought I'd try my hand at the Forex market. Oh, I'd day traded the Swiss Franc, British Pound and Deutsche Mark for years, but never the currency pairs, otherwise known as the Forex Market.

So, rather than design another system to trade the currency pairs, I thought I'd see what other traders are doing, and what they were using to make profits in the hot currencies.

So, I went on a search. Now, if you knew me, you would know that everything out there is of interest to me...well maybe not everything, but scientific trading plans and systems are high on my list of things to check out. Also, anything pertaining to natural health and healing....but that's a story for another day.

I looked at a dozen or more Forex trading systems and trading models... all claimed to be easy and make you tons of money. I should have known better, but like I said, I'm interested in anything that has to do with trading. Some required hours of time, some where black box, some where overly complicated. I wouldn't recomend any of them to an enemy, not that I have any...but you get the idea. All were junk.

A Little Background On The Creator Of A Real Forex Trading System

Just how many years is that you may ask?

Well its getting real close to half a century. I started trading stocks in the early sixties. First on my own, then with a few close friends in an Investment Club. We made gobs of money, we made more trading in stocks than we made at our jobs. Yep, we were working stiffs.

After 4 years we decided to close down the club. I had made enough to go into business for myself. But I never stopped studying and leaning everything I could about the markets. Then when gold and silver went nuts in the late seventies, my interest turned to commodities and futures.

Forex trading systems were not around at the time, except the ones the professtional traders who worked for the larger banks. Most large banks have a currency trading section, where they employee top traders to handle their international trading.

To make a very long story, a little shorter. I started learning how the top indicators worked. I studied their strong points and where they let most traders down.

Right about that time I meet George Lane, a trading professional, who not only knew how to trade, he taught many floor traders at the Chicago Board Of Trade and The Chicago Merc.

I went to work for George, became a commodity broker. Well we hit it off right away. George showed me his Stochastic Trading Indicator, which he was just letting the public in on back in those days. At one time it was the most widely known and used indicator in the western world, and still is one of the most popular and effective 50 years later.

Well Mr. Lane was busy putting together an advanced trading system for the S&P's and was short on time so he turned his clients over to me, with the instructions "I was to take very good care of them or else."

I never did find out what the 'or else' was and didn't want to find out...so I was very careful to make sure each of George's traders and investors were well taken car of.

I particularly remember one older gentleman that would call the office everyday who we affectionately we nicknamed the Bean Doctor...him being a medical doctor and trading soybeans everyday. He loved to talk about Gann's trading medthods.

W. D. Gann was the legendary trader who banked over 50 million dollars trading commodities and some stocks. Gann who traded in the first half of the last century knew more about trading and how to extract profits from the markets than any other trader I've ever studied...bar none.

Now you have to remember, at this point in time I had mostly traded stock and stock options so while I knew much about the commodity markets, I realized that there was much more knowledge out there about commodity futures than I had been exposed to in my career.

But you don't want to hear about by exciting life...you want to get on with yours...
